The founder

Tristan Nguyen, CPA, MBA

Tristan brings over fifteen years of accounting experience from corporate settings and a national accounting firm to growing businesses across the country. He holds a BBA in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and an MBA from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and he is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Massachusetts.

He founded Tristan CPA on a simple idea: growing businesses deserve big-firm expertise with the flexibility, focus, and personal attention a big firm can't give them — and modern technology should make the financial side of running a business lighter, not heavier.

From Boston
to nationwide.

Tristan grew up in Boston and started the firm there, working with local brewers, retailers, studio owners and professional service firms. In 2021 he moved to Houston, and the firm went fully remote. Boston is still our largest client base — the 617 number is the same one clients have always called — and the same remote model now serves businesses across the country.
